INEC holds polls’ awareness campaign in Gwags

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has launched area council poll awareness campaign in Gwagwalada Area council for potential voters on how to cast their votes during the election.

Electoral Officer, EO, in-charge of Gwagwalada, Hajia Jummai Abubakar, told The Abuja Inquirer at a meeting with youths, market women, traditional rulers and security agents that the move is aimed at ensuring smooth and credible exercise when the election holds on April 9.

She also said that prior to the event INEC had met security agents to fashion out ways to have hitch free exercise even as she encouraged residents of Gwagwalada to come out en mass to cast their votes.

Abubakar also tasked eligible voters to be law abiding, follow instructions of election officials, advising voters to come out on time that voting would commence after accreditation and implored politicians and other stakeholders to continue to contribute their quota to ensuring the success of the elections.
