Abuja lawyer petitions Daura over siege to office by DSS

An Abuja based lawyer, Sayo Odumosu, has petitioned the Director General of the Department of State Security, DSS, Mr. Lawal Daura, over the alleged vandalization of his law office and seizure of his property by personnel the Service in an operation that lasted for several hours.

Odumosu in the petition appealed to the DSS boss to investigate the invasion, retrieve the seized property including cash and bring those involved to justice.

The petition dated November 3 reads; “The men of the Department of State Security Service on the 30th day of October, 2015 forcefully gained entry into our law office at Block M5, Flat2, NNPC Senior Staff Estate, Area 11, Garki, Abuja at about 5pm and vandalized our office carting away huge valuables in an operation that lasted into the morning of the next day.

“Our principal, Barrister Sayo Odumosu, who was in the United States of America for medical check-up as at the time of the incident visited the headquarters of the Department of State Security Services at Aso Drive, Abuja in company of the Head of Chambers, Mr Micheal Bello on the 23rd of November, 2015 at about 10amto seek audience with you or any other officer that may be in charge of the matter, but we were told at the reception that we could only be allowed to see you or the Director of Operations or any other officer of the Service on invitation by you or any such other officer.

“we will wish to be invited for any necessary interview with the State Service as our office has not been able to function appropriately since the incident as a result of psychological effects of the incident.’’
