Ex-FCT perm sec wants varsities, alumna to strengthen relations

Former FCT Permanent Secretary, Engr. John Chukwu, has called on universities in the country to establish and strengthen relations with the alumni associations for mutual benefits. 

Chukwu, who made the call at the maiden reunion of ‘Agbebi Class of 82’ of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka in Abuja, also described alumni associations as veritable vehicles and sources of quantum contribution and assistance that could foster growth and development in institutions. 

His words: “The more the institution grows in stature, the better it is for the alumni, students, community and the country at large as educational development is engendered and fostered.” 

The immediate past permanent secretary maintained that alumni are naturally give back mechanism thereby helping the institution become bigger, better and stronger for future generations. 

Apart from providing financial support to alma mater, Chukwu also call on the alumna to remain key stakeholders to maintain constant contact to keep abreast of what is happening and give useful suggestions. 

The ‘Agbebites Class of 82’ (Civil Engineering) has 22 members and has produced two Federal Permanent Secretaries.
