Bello charges media owners on staff welfare

Also, the administration has reiterated its readiness to further strengthen its media partnership.
Bello, who made the assertion last week, stressed that the place of the media in the affairs of the society cannot be overlooked, given its critical role in ensuring the delivering of good governance to the people.
The minister, who spoke at a retreat organised for journalists covering the activities of the FCTA in Kaduna state, explained that the administration orgainsed the retreat to pave way for a better understanding of how the FCTA works.
Flagging of the two-day retreat with the theme: “Media as a Strategic Partner in a Change Environment,” Bello urged journalists to key into the change agenda of the government of the day.
Represented by Director, Information and Communications, FCT Administration, Mrs. Stella Ojeme, the minister revealed that the decision to take journalists on a retreat is a further demonstration of his admiration to see the media as change agents, adding that it has become necessary for the media to understand the budgeting and procurement processes of the administration.
Speaking at the event, chairman of the press corps, Mr. Attah Ikharo, described the retreat as very timely hoping it would help to deepen the knowledge of members of the corps as they report the FCTA.
