FG launches rapid result health initiative
The Federal Ministry of Health has launched rapid result initiative program tagged “better health for all” designed to produce quick and visible impact that will affect the lives of every Nigerian, especially the most vulnerable.
Minister of Health, Prof. Isaac Adewole, said the launch of the program portrayed the preparedness, and determination of the Federal Government to kick-start the operation of the program to achieve result within 100 days.
While briefing the press in Abuja, Adewole said that the target goals are ambitious, but certainly would be able to keep the top management of the ministry on their toes in the next 100 days of implementation.
The minister further said that the rapid result initiative would be deployed in seven major areas that will conform with both local and international health priorities noting that the program will cut across the revitalization of primary healthcare center, PHCs, under which Ministry of Health would work to revamp 110 primary health centers within the next 100 days, one in each senatorial district.
Adewole also said his leadership would inaugurate mutual health association at community level to improve access to affordable and quality healthcare, stressing that the mutual health association will be privately or publicly incorporated body registered by National Health Insurance Scheme to access healthcare services through health facilities accredited by the scheme.
