This is your baptism, Dogara

The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Yakubu Dogara, is in facing his toughest political battle yet 9 years in the House.
When he emerged Speaker of the Lower Chamber of the National Assembly against the wishes of his party, the All Progressives Party, APC, he was merely following tradition as set by his predecessor, Aminu Tambuwal.
While his other number in the Senate, Bukola Saraki, was facing blistering from all sides, Dogara was easily accepted by the party and was always a guest of President Muhammadu Buhari.
But that seems to be in the past as the water pitcher is broken courtesy of Hon. Abdulmumuni Jibrin, former chairman, House Committee of Appropriations.
Jibrin had laid bare how the speaker in league with other principal officers padded the budget to several billions.
To think that all along, Dogara had presented himself as Mr. Clean; the untainted poster boy of the Change agents.
No sooner had he assumed the perch of speakership did he forget his roots in the PDP. For Eight years before his cross carpeting, Dogara was one of the shining lights of the erstwhile ruling party. But all that changed like is now a common trait with all those the in the APC; they are no sinners.
But with Jibrin spilling the beans and behaving as if he is bull in a China shop, the speaker has had little defence to make and now knows how it feels to be out of the water for a hippo.
It would be a miracle of sorts if he survives this baptism, but as they say in politics, there are no guarantees.
