Kuje LEA rewards outstanding teachers
In its efforts to enhance the quality of teaching, the Local Education Authority, LEA, in Kuje area council is to reward teachers who have performed exceptionally well.
Education secretary of the council, Mr. Sunday Kaka, who made this known to our correspondent in his office, encouraged the teachers to make concerted effort to upgrade their performance by acquiring higher education.
He stressed the commitment of his leadership to promote training and re-training of teachers of the council, noting that teachers being the custodian of knowledge, there is need for them to properly equipped themselves as well as to be up to date.
The LEA scribe commended teachers for dedicating themselves to their duties, even as he tasked the council leadership to complement the efforts of the Universal Basic Education Board, UBEB, towards providing enough instructional materials in both junior and primary schools.
He enumerated achievements recorded by the education authority to include tackling the menace of child labour, teenage pregnancy and school dropouts, noting that progress has been achieved in the enrolment of the girl-child.
He enjoined teachers to assist parents in the area of grooming and monitoring the young ones and tasked parents to ask their wards to revise what they have learnt in school during the holidays.
