FRSC, academy partner on fire extinguisher sensitization

Unit Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, Yangoji unit command has given indication that it would partner with the National Fire Service Academy, Sheda Kwali Area Council to sensitese the motoring public on the significance and usage of the fire extinguisher. 

Commanding officer in charge of Yangoji command, Mr. Godwin Samgbaza, made this known recently when he led management team of the command to the commandant of the academy. 

He tasked motorists to always put functional extinguisher in their vehicles, noting that the item would help in no small measure help towards curtailing fire outbreak. 

Samgbaza solicited the support and cooperation of the commandant in the area of collaboration to tackle incidence of fire especially during the ember months with a view to saving lives and especially along Abuja/Lokoja road. 

The FRSC unit head stated that the unit would intensify public enlightenment campaign with a view to educating motorists to avoid reckless driving such as over speeding and dangerous overtaking, even as he implored motorists to exercise caution while plying the road. 

He tasked motorists to maintain the recommended 100 kilometre speed limit per hour and ensure wiper, break, trafficator and light system, wind screen and side mirrors were functioning properly especially during this period of raining season. 

Responding, the commandant, Mr. C.K Ahu, thanked the unit commander for the visit and stressed his readiness to explore more ways of collaboration aimed at reducing road carnage that may occur as a result of fire mishap on the highways
