Kwali LEA moves to motivate teachers


The Local Education Authority, LEA, in Kwali Area Council under the leadership of Mr. Peter Philip has given indication to initiate programmes that would boost the morale of teachers of the council aimed at building their capacity.

He disclosed this to The Abuja Inquirer in Kwali, explaining that the essence was to encourage and enhance the performances of the teachers to perform their primary assignment efficiently in the area of impacting requisite knowledge to the young ones.

Philip tasked both teaching and non-teaching staff of the LEA to complement the efforts of the FCT Universal Basic Education Board, UBEB, and the area council to promote quality of teaching and learning in primary and junior secondary schools.

The education secretary stated that the LEA under his watch would institute package for rewarding teachers who performed exceptionally in the course of discharging their primary assignment, just as he tasked teachers holding lower qualifications to make concerted efforts to acquire higher qualification.

Philip commended the chairman of the council, Hon. Joseph Shazin for the provision of basic instructional materials in the schools, noting that the gesture would in no small measure enhance teaching and learning in the area.
