Kuje council takes steps to tackle erosion
Department of Environmental Sanitation, Kuje Area Council in the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, has put in place strong measures to tackle the menace of erosion in Kuje town and its environs.
The head of environmental sanitation of the council, Sani Adamu, who disclosed this to The Abuja Inquirer, noted that environmental health officers would be carrying out inspection to educate the residents on the significance of healthy living.
He noted that his leadership would be complementing the efforts of the sanitation committee of the council to enable members of the committee discharge their factions efficiently with a view to keeping the entire council clean.
The environmental health expert also reiterated the commitment of the council to control the incessant indiscriminate refuse dump, adding that the department under his watch would partner with Abuja Satellite Development Department on liter control.
Adamu warned the residents of Kuje against the violation of FCT sanitation law that henceforth the council would commence prosecution of defaulters to serve as deterrent to others, just as he appealed to holds to dig latrine in their houses.
The HOD commended the chairman of the council, Hon. Abdullahi Galadima for given the sufficient funds to the department to evacuate refuse in Kuje and environs, even as he tasked the residents to comply with the department in the conduct of monthly sanitation exercise.
