FCT minister tasks staff on attitudinal change

Federal Capital Territory Minister, Malam Muhammad Bello, has called on staff of the FCT Administration to change their attitude towards service delivery.

The minister made the call while receiving the chairman of the Joint Unions Action Committee, Comrade Titus Okoro, the umbrella organization for all affiliate unions under the FCT Administration in his office.

Bello stated that his administration is poised to serve the people and therefore solicited for the support of officials of the unions as well as the entire staff of the administration to achieve this onerous task.

He assured that his administration would do its best to promote staff welfare but within the context of overall national policy.

His words: “I want to assure you that I will sincerely do my best for you but would also like to appeal for genuine support on the part of your members.”

Speaking earlier, the chairman of the Joint Unions Action Committee, Comrade Titus Okoro, appealed to the minister to look into the 100 percent payment of staff rent supplement in line with extant rules as the amount now being paid is not sufficient to secure accommodation for staff of the administration.

The FCT Permanent Secretary, Dr. Babatope Ajakaiye and some senior officials of the administration also attended the meeting.
