Cleric urges Christians to propagate peace
A clergy with the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Gwagwalada, Air Commodore Emmanuel Oisamoje, has charged Christian faithful to emulate Jesus Christ in propagating peaceful coexistence in society.
In a chat with The Abuja Inquirer when he bagged peace ambassador award of the United Nigeria Chaplaincy, UNC, in recognition of his contributions in the work of evangelism, the man of God tasked Christians to use Christmas as a period of sober reflection to come close to Lord and seek for repentance from their sins.
Oisamoje also encouraged Christians to follow in the footsteps of Jesus Christ who was sent to earth to salvage mankind.
The cleric tasked Christians to show love to their neighbors as well as those of not in the same faith, noting that the foundation of Christianity was to unite, love and show tolerance especially to unbelievers.
He commended the leadership of the UNC for playing a vital role in propagating the gospel of Jesus, saying that various enlightenment programmes of the body has helped in no small measure towards bring peace in the country.
The clergy equally called on government to complement the efforts of the religious body in the area of training and re-training of its members as according to him, anybody engaged in peace campaign must be properly equipped with the right knowledge.
