Sports varsity commences in Delta state

Delta State Governor Ifeanyi Okowa has stated that the state government is making giant strides in the sports sector with huge investment in both personnel and infrastructure.

Okowa represented by Hon. Jude Sinebe, Commissioner for Higher Education, stated this at the foundation laying ceremony of All Stars Sports University at Idumuje Ugboko in Aniocha North Local Government Area of Delta State funded by Hon. Ned Nwoko, a former member of the House of Representatives.

He maintained that, the enviable achievements recorded by Delta athletes at both local and international level attest to the premium the state government attaches to sports, calling on Deltans to avail themselves of the golden opportunity offered by the All Stars Sports University and equip themselves academically.

The state governor explained that sports has the potential of providing employment for the youths and advise them to be committed to what they are doing to become world champions.

The proprietor of the university, Hon. Nwoko, maintained he brought the university to the state to enable Deltans equip themselves in sports matters and also their academic endeavour.

According to him, Deltans show great interest in sports, and that the need to assist the children to excel in the game motivated his desire in attracting the higher institution to Idumuje Ugboko in Aniocha Norht Local Government Area Delta State.
