Rotary works towards total eradication of polio in Delta

By Ambrose IMOBHIO, Asaba

The Rotary Club, Asaba Government House, is to embark on sensitization programme on the eradication of polio from Delta State.

Rotarian Innocent Afareha, 6th president of the Rotary Club of Asaba Government House, stated this while addressing journalists on the focus of his executive.

He regretted that polio still cripples thousands of children around the world, and that if urgent steps are taken at the appropriate time it will not have enormous devastating effects.

Afareha appealed to parents and guardians to always take advantage of programmes put in place by government at all levels in conjunction with Rotary Clubs by immunizing their children and wards at the right time to save them from falling victim to the disease.

He maintained that the club is committed to fighting the epidemic owing to the fact that if the world has healthy people even development and growth takes place.
