FCT perm sec embarks on office assessment, staff absent

The Permanent Secretary in the Federal Capital Territory Administration, Dr. Babatope Ajakaiye, was stunned Thursday as he met empty offices when he embarked on office assessment to ascertain the punctuality and seriousness of public servants of the administration.

The visit is coming barely two weeks after the FCT Minister, Mallam Muhammad Bello, embarked on a similar visit and met most of the offices empty.

Though the permanent secretary was surprised that as at 10am most staffers were yet to report to their offices, he refused to comment at the end of the visit, but it was clear that he was not happy with the lackadaisical attitude of most staff of the administration, even as he commended those at their duty post for diligence

It was not clear whether punitive measures will be taken against erring officers.
