Group hails Fayemi over Ekiti guber victory

A Buhari/Osinbajo solidarity group has commended the outcome of Ekiti governorship elections which saw candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, announced as winner.

The Noble Women Movement for Buhari and Osinbajo, NWM4BO, said the outcome of the election validates the position held by the group that no amount of blackmail against the Buhari administration will change the minds of millions of Nigerians who are genuinely yearning for trusted leaders.

The commendation was contained in a press statement by its director of publicity, Dr. Rachael Ahmadu in Abuja.

The statement quoted the national president of the group, Mrs. Mfawa Usani, as saying that the Ekiti people cannot be insulted by politics of stomach infrastructure, hence they came out in their thousands to choose their leader.

"We commend the outcome of the Ekiti governorship race. The result released by the INEC has validated our earlier position that no amount of blackmail will change the minds of the people because Nigerians are wiser and we saw this play out in Ekiti governorship election.

"The people of Ekiti cannot be insulted by politics of stomach infrastructure and de-mobilization. Before the election, the outgoing governor made several attempts to demobilize movement by paying off all taxi drivers, bus drivers and Okada riders to make sure that there was no means of local transportation for Ekiti people to attend APC mega rally.

Usani maintained that the group will continue to work assiduously to deliver Buhari/Osinbajo come 2019 presidential elections.
