UNIABUJA moves to address certificate complaints

Authorities of the University of Abuja have set up a committee to address complaints over collection of certificates by graduates of the institution.

Registrar of the university, Mrs. Rifkatu Swanta, who disclosed this exclusively to the Abuja Inquirer in her office at Gwgwalada recently, assured grandaunts that the management of the university was making efforts towards issuing certificates to them without hitches.

Swanta appealed to all sets of graduating students yet to collect their certificates to exercise patience even as she attributed the problem to accumulation of backlog of certificates that were not issue by previous management.

It would be recalled that the university had been inundated with complaints by some graduates over its failure to award certificates to them as at when due, leading to the constitution of the committee by its Governing Council.

The registrar noted that the vice chancellor of the university, Prof Michael Adikwu, has put in place measures to end the difficulties being face by some awardees while imploring them to cooperate with staff of the university’s registry at all the times to fast-track the process of collection.
