FCDA to redesign Chibiri Pasali layout

Following the ministerial approval for the change of land use, the Department of Urban and Regional Planning in the Federal Capital Development Authority, FCDA, has given indication for the redesign and harmonization of Chibiri Pasali layout in Kuje Area Council of FCT.

The department stated that the redesign of Chibiri and Pasali farmlands layout to comprehensive residential and other ancillary uses, was aimed at accommodating the yearning of allottees seeking allocation of residential purposes.

This revelation came during a maiden stakeholders meeting with allottees held on Thursday in Kuje area council secretariat.

Speaking at the event, director of urban and regional planning, Malam Muhammad Loko, who was represented by the deputy director, project monitoring and design, Tpl. Chinyere Ome, said the redesign has become necessary in view of development catching up with the existing layout.

"The reason for the stakeholders is to ensure that allottees are given the opportunity to make their contributions that will form their recommendations in the redesign project", Loko stated.

He, however, allayed fears of the allottees that government will be fair to them to ensure that they get a better deal, stressing that the title deed will change from customary to statutory.

Loko particularly commended the Kuje area council for their cooperation and understanding of the FCT programmes over the years, and urged them to sustain the tempo.

Earlier, chairman of the area council, Hon. Abdullahi Galadima, said that the council was strongly behind the lofty initiatives of the FCT Administration, while pledging the maximum support of the council.

Some indigenes of Pasali used the occasion to appeal to FCT Minister to ensure the expansion of community allocation as well as to be considered in the farmland allocation.

Others who spoke at the stakeholders meeting advocated for inclusive committee that will involve all knotty issues surrounding the redesign project.
