Abaji LEA to engage consultants on teacher training
The leadership of the Local Education Authority, LEA, in Abaji area council has given indication that it would soon engage the services of consultants to training teachers.
The LEA secretary of the council, Alh. Umar Ndagi, who disclosed this to The Abuja Inquirer while commending the efforts of the chairman for the provision of instructional materials in primary schools, noted that the gesture would in no small measure enhance teaching and learning.
The educationist stated that the consultants would be engaged during long holidays as they will be saddled with the responsibility of training teachers of the council on new teaching techniques focusing on class management.
He tasked teachers in Abaji and its environs to reciprocate government’s gesture in the area of grooming the young ones with requisite knowledge, just as he noted that the council had tackled the challenges of shortage of man power.
Ndagi stressed that the LEA would continue to educate parents through its department of social mobilization with a view to having increase in pupils’ enrollment as well as educating members of the public on the importance of girl-child education.
The Abaji LEA scribe assured teachers of prompt payment of their salaries and entitlements as when due, noting that the chairman of the council has approved payment of annual increment of 2018 promotion with effect from September this year.
