Butchers make case for completion of Kwali abattoir
Chairman of Nigeria Butchers Association, Kwali branch, Alh. Sani Ibrahim, has made a passionate appeal to the Federal Capital Territory Administration to hasten the completion of the abattoir project in the council.
Ibrahim in a chat with our correspondent in his office in Kwali main market, noted that providing a befitting abattoir would in no small measure enhance meat processing as well as give the residents the opportunity to eat wholesome meat.
The chairman, who commended the FCTA for the construction of the new slaughtering house, stated that when completed it would provide employment opportunities as well as enhance the revenue drive of the government.
Ibrahim reiterated the commitment of the association to improve its activities in Kwali and environs aimed at improving the economic activities in Kwali, adding that his leadership is committed to the good conduct of his members.
The butcher decried lack of facilities in the old abattoir which include water, electricity, roads and shop accommodation, even as he expressed the determination of the association to complement government’s gesture to ensure timely completion of the new abattoir.
