FCTA staff co-operative society bags meritorious award
The FCTA Staff Multi-purpose Co-operative Society, last week, bagged various categories of awards at the Annual Conference of Institute of Co-operative Professionals of Nigeria, ICOPRON.

According to him, FCTA Staff Multi-purpose Co-operative Society was one of the few co-operative societies in FCT that were given the award of the most Co-operative Friendly Society in the FCT.
"The co-operative was given the award based on her track record of strict adherence to co-operative Act in the discharge of her duties without any compromise in the last 18 years of its existence. During the period, the co-operative society which grew from slightly above ten people saw her membership soar to about 3,000," the statement said.
The award was received on behalf of the society by the secretary of the co-operative, Tortiv and treasurer, Hajia Saadatu Salau.
Similarly, the FCT minister received the award for Outstanding Co-operative Leadership in recognition of the efforts made by his administration to settle one of the most complicated and intractable problems in the history of co-operative societies in FCT, while Hon. Stanley Nzekwe was bestowed the Distinguished Co-operative Leadership Award.
Other awardees include Hajia Hassana Mohammed who also got the Distinguished Co-operative Leadership Award for her innovative leadership in the Co-operative Registry which has led to the inauguration of the Arbitration Committee to tackle the barrage of problems affecting the smooth operation of co-operative societies.
