FCTA, market group target 1000 persons for free medical care
The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Malam Muhammad Bello, has reiterated his support for laudable projects aimed at building a healthy population and sensitising the people on government policies and programmes, as traders target 1000 persons for free medical care.
Bello stated this when he received members of the Nigeria Traders for President Muhammadu Buhari, NTPMB, on a courtesy visit held last week.
The minister commended the group, describing their programmes as laudable while assuring them of the support of the FCT Administration.
According to him, the administration would grant the organization access to all markets under the authority of FCT Administration for the purpose of the exercise.
He however said that the guidelines for such would be adhered to strictly, just as he directed relevant Secretariats, Departments and Agencies, SDAs, to work with the group towards the realization of the laudable programme.
Earlier, the National Coordinator of Nigeria Traders for PMB, Prince Paul Ikonne, said the visit was to solicit the support of the FCTA for the various programmes they have lined up to bring together all traders and galvanise support for President Muhammad Buhari ahead of the 2019 elections.
Ikonne said the group plans on public enlightenment, free medical checks and town hall meetings to sensitise traders on the laudable policies and programmes of the president Buhari led administration aimed at the overall development of the masses as well as the need for his re-election come 2019.
The coordinator stated that the group plans on reaching out to at least 1000 people at each market visited, starting with the Kuje market in Kuje area council of the FCT.
