Thrills as Igboist Abuja chapter holds get-together party

The atmosphere was enveloped with fun and excitement as the Abuja chapter of a popular social media group Igboist had its maiden edition of get-together party.

Speaking with journalists at the event, one of the group admin, Nweke Paul Anayo, said the aim of the get-together party is for members whom he said have known themselves on the social media for months and years to get familiar with each other, interact and build a new network of friendship.

"We came together not just for the purpose of familiarity but we intend to promote the welfare of members especially at this period when it appears lending a helping hand to one another has become difficult.

“We in Igboist our intention is to be each other's brother and sister, help each other grow in any little way we can in terms of business and job opportunity. People who are in positions of authority can use their positions to help members who are not employed. We're not just here for fun" he stated.

He expressed optimism that in the nearest future, the Abuja chapter of Igboist will have an expanded network across various sectors to carter for the growth and development of its members.

Also speaking, a member of the group, Miss Blessing Ngozi Roland, expressed satisfaction with the unity and oneness that has existed among members.

"I'm so happy meeting these beautiful people here. I had a lot of fun. The gathering is really wonderful. I look forward to more of this in the future" she said.

She appealed to Igbos living in Abuja especially the singles to identify with the group which she described as an umbrella of love and unity.

Igboist, a leading Facebook group with over 1.5 million members and branches across Nigeria was founded in November 2012 by an Afikpo born philanthropist and a member Ebonyi state House of Assembly Hon. Maria Ude Nwachi.
