FRSC moves to address gridlock in city center

The unit commander in charge of Federal Secretariat, Mr. Wasiu Adejumobi, has said that his leadership has put on adequate measures to clear gridlock during the peak hours in the central business district.

He disclosed this in a chat with our correspondent in his office, noting that the command would intensify patrol to reduce carnages that might occur as a result of high volume of traffic in the area.

Adejumobi, who is an Assistant Corps Commander, noted that public enlightenment campaign would be sustained in strategic locations such as Area 1 and Wuse market to sensitive motorists to desist from commuting route violation.

The FRSC officer appealed to motoring public more especially the elite to abide by the traffic rules and regulations, adding that accident has no regard for personalities.

He enjoined motoring public to shun dangerous driving and overtaking, just as he implored motorists to exercise caution while driving in the city centres.

Adejumobi warned FCT residents against beating traffic light, stressing that the command under his watch would not fold arms to allow motorists violating traffic laws.

The unit commander implored motorists to use limited speed while moving in built-up areas in the central business district, even as he cautioned against taking the advantage of good road to engage in over speeding.
