PDP days numbered in FCT APC chair

The chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the FCT, Hon. Abdulmalik Usman, has assured party faithful that the party will win the forthcoming area council elections, saying that the days of PDP in the territory is numbered.

In a chat with our correspondent, the APC chair said, “the days of impunity perpetrated by the Peoples Democratic Party is over as we have strategized perfectly to relinquish power from them.

“PDP has impoverished our people as there is nothing tangible to show in its rule in the area councils all these years.

"The party (PDP)is in great shambles now as virtually all progressive minds in the FCT have deserted it, and it is now like an orphan. This is evident in the rush and high demand of our expression of interest form in all the area councils even from the party's former stakeholders. You can see for yourself the beehive of activities since morning.”

He decried the state of infrastructural decay in the rural communities in the five PDP controlled area councils, promising to reverse the once the APC takes over in the area councils.

The APC boss promised that the party will affect the lives of rural dwellers by providing motorable roads, potable water, improved healthcare and most importantly, education.

On the issue of consensus candidate in the election, the chairman said, “our constitution allows for consensus candidate if all parties agree, but if the aspirants do not agree, then we go for elections.

"AMAC alone has about fourteen contestants, so we will harmonize and make sure we present an acceptable candidate, either through election or consensus. We have also reached out to all the contestants on the need to support whoever gets the mandate to represent our party in any of the area councils
