Ricky Tarfa on the cross

An acolyte in the temple of justice finds himself as scapegoat of where he serves is the story of Mr. Ricky Tarfa SAN.

Like a scene plucked from a Nollywood flick, Tarfa in his sworn oath to defend his clients found himself at the wrong end of the pole with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.

Tarfa’s clients, Gnanhooue Sourou and Nazaire Odeste, owners of Rana Prestige Industries, were going to be arrested in the premises of the Lagos High Court and like the true legal priest that he is, Tarfa resisted the attempt.

Little did he know that his action to ‘preserve the sanctity of the courts’ was going to land him into fartherwahala as the anti-graft agencydid not only arrest him, but went probing into his past trying to rack mud.

In an ironic twist, the EFCC has alleged that the Learned Silk made phone contacts with Justice Mohammed‎Yunusa in a case before the judge, and went ahead to bribe him with N225, 000!

Well, Tarfa who had since denied the allegation caused not a small stir last week as he stormed the court on his arraignment with over 90 Senior Advocates, a sight that sent shivers down the spine of the presiding judge, who confessed his discomfiture.

For now, it seems that the cross of the EFCC may just be too small to contain this SAN who is as well physically large sized.
