Six-year old unveils reading club

A six-year old pupil, Onome Treasure Uko, has unveiled a reading club to sharpen the reading skills of pupils within her age bracket.

Speaking during the event, chairman, Board of Trustees of the club, Mr. Babatunde Salam, said the initiative is a veritable platform to identify and make reading attractive to the very little ones as they grow.

Babatunde disclosed that Onome's interest in reading, retention and writing started in her fourth year, describing it as a unique trait that cannot be wished away by any responsible parent.

He said the objectives of the club were to help children love reading, understand and speak out as well as to help them identify and pronounce simple, difficult and complex words.

Also speaking, Onome's mother, Mrs.Odugbo Sarah, said it was imperative to initiate the reading club in order for her daughter to share the grace of God on her with other kids.

Books were also donated at event for nursery, primary schools in order to enhance the teaching process and add value to their learning process.
